PASTOR KRIS and DARLEEN NEWMAN: Pastor Kris and Darleen Newman graduated from Zion Bible College and married on June 23, 1969. They have been in ministry since that time in various capacities. After serving on the faculty and staff of Zion Bible College in Barrington, Rhode Island for twenty years, they accepted a position at Lancaster First Assembly 1992, serving first as Assistant Pastor and then as Senior Pastor in 1996. Pastor Kris and Darleen have one daughter, Kristal – married to Shawn – and two grandsons, Kyle and Kory. “We are a ‘missions minded’ family and have ministered in Kenya, Tanzania, St. Lucia and India. The Lord is coming back soon and there are still many around the world who need Jesus! May we hear the Lord say ‘Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Pastor Mark is committed to caring and connecting with God’s people. His ministry ranges from Young Adults, Special Prayer, Small Groups Teacher, to Visitation to our senior members. Along with his full time job, he follows the call of God in ministry here at Lancaster First Assembly. They both have a heart for teaching God’s word and mentoring Young Adults. Pastor Mark and his wife Mary have two children, Amanda and Jared.
Pastor Jennifer and Robert Straub have come to us from New Mexico with a call of God on their hearts. Pastor Jen earned a BA degree from North Central University in Urban Missions, and Robert has his associates in Graphic Design and Media Arts. Jennifer grew up in the Assemblies of God going to PennDel camps, youth convention, and winter retreats, and participated in Fine arts competitions. She has been involved in youth and children’s ministries since 1994 along with Robert since they were married in 2012. Rob participated in an after-school Christ centered tutoring program facilitated by the local churches in Clovis, NM called “Whizkidz.” Pastor Jen and Rob met and married in Clovis, NM but were both originally from South Central PA. They moved back to PA in July 2015 and are excited to be a part of the great things God is doing at Lancaster First Assembly of God.
Gretchen Bender is passionate about using music to glorify God. She has served as a worship leader on the Outer Banks of NC before transplanting her family to Lancaster in August of 2016.
Gretchen and her husband, Jon, have been married for 18 years and love serving together with their children: Katie, Micah, Abigaile and Johanna.
